Frequently Asked Questions.

Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal (RMKM) is a voluntary organization inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s community development strategies. It was established in 1975 following a major flash flood in Ajmer, where the founder, Lt. Mr. Sagar Mal Kaushik, mobilized relief efforts for affected families. RMKM was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 1987.

RMKM envisions a healthy and empowered society that values and treats all human beings equally, capable of initiating and managing sustained development. Its mission is to facilitate the economic and social upliftment of deprived children, women, youth, and the elderly through education, skill enhancement, health, and livelihood programs to promote self-independence and self-reliance.

  • Education and Inclusion: Promoting inclusive education, particularly for children with special needs.
  • Health: Working with high-risk populations to combat HIV/AIDS and improving overall health through various interventions.
  • Livelihood Promotion and Micro-Credit: Empowering women through microfinance and livelihood initiatives.
  • Human Resources Development: Training educators and promoting inclusive education.
  • Child Rights and Protection: Advocating for and protecting child rights, including operating a 24×7 child helpline.

RMKM promotes inclusive education, particularly for children with special needs, by operating two special schools in Ajmer, Rajasthan. These schools practice reverse inclusion, integrating children with and without disabilities, and provide interventions for over 2,500 CWSN’s

RMKM strives to ensure health and well-being for all, aligning with SDG 3. The organization works with high-risk populations such as injecting drug users, commercial sex workers, and migrant populations to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. RMKM also focuses on nutrition programs, early identification and intervention for children with special needs, and vaccination efforts.

RMKM empowers women through its microfinance and livelihood initiatives. The organization supports around 3,500 women across 300 villages, helping them become self-reliant through loans and skill development, particularly in farm and non-farm livelihoods. RMKM also trains women in animal husbandry to support sustainable livelihoods.

RMKM is actively involved in child protection, working in collaboration with Childline India Foundation and Kailash Satyarthi Foundation. The organization operates a 24×7 child helpline (1098) to support children in distress and advocates for the rights and protection of all children, particularly those at risk of violence, abuse, and exploitation.
